The Thornliebank Local Action Plan is nearly ready!

and you can help choose what goes in it!

This is the final stage in forming a Local Action Plan for Thornliebank. It will identify the options most important to the community to be included in the plan.

The initial consultation was undertaken from 9th May to 20th November 2022 which allowed us to hear about local people’s priorities. You may have participated and given us your ideas which;

  • identified the areas in their town you wanted to see improved,
  • provided ideas for how that could happen,
  • and supported the ideas of others.

We have looked at the many suggestions made and this has allowed us to develop the shortlist in this survey

There are three topics -

  • Buildings, meeting and retail spaces
  • Green spaces and pathways
  • Roads, transportation and active travel

Inside each topic you will find a map with the locations of the different options. Below the map a list of options for each location for you to select.

To select any option you would like to see progress simply click on it in the list. You can choose as many as you like

To support development of East Renfrewshire’s new Local Transport Strategy we have launched a transport survey to gather community feedback to help shape future transport priorities.

What a great start, Thornliebank!

The initial survey for the Thornliebank Local Action Plan is now closed. Thank you to everyone who took part and shared their views about the places and spaces in Thornliebank.

Fantastic Response

The consultation ran from the 9th May to the 20th June 2022 and in that time had nearly 2300 visits, generating 229 contributions and 94 news subscriptions. You can continue to read what people told us by going to the map: https://thornliebankmap.commonplace.is/map/map

What happens next?

If you missed out on the survey don't worry, there will be opportunities to get involved as plans and projects develop. We will be publishing the initial findings of the survey on the council Regeneration pages in the coming weeks and will developing a list of potential projects from the ideas provided which will also be published for your views.

Transforming Thornliebank - help shape our Levelling Up funding bid

We have a fantastic opportunity to apply for funding that would transform Thornliebank and we want your views on our proposals.

The Levelling Up Fund is designed to invest in infrastructure that improves everyday life across the UK. The £4.8 billion fund will support town centre and high street regeneration, local transport projects, and cultural and heritage assets.

Our proposed ideas for Thornliebank aim to:

- support economic change resilience

- encourage active travel

- celebrate local heritage.

But it is really important that we gather views from the local community, so whether you live, work or visit Thornliebank, have a look at the proposals and have your say.

Still time to have your say

Our local action plan consultation for Thornliebank closes on Monday 20 June, so if you haven't yet submitted your ideas, there is still time!

We've had some great ideas and engagement from the local community, but we want the ideas to keep coming, so please share with friends and family and ask them to get involved. If you're already added your thoughts, why not go and check what others have said? If you like any of them, you can give it a 'thumbs-up'. A big thanks to everyone who have participated.

It's been three weeks since the Local Action Plan survey for Thornliebank was launched and there have been 37 responses so far.

Why not take a look at some of these and if you like any of them, click the agree button. This will help us identify the most popular ideas.

Some comments we've already received include:

  • Introduce disabled parking bays outside the Thorntree Hall entrance
  • Improve access and lighting on the path from Crosslees Drive to Thornliebank Library
  • Make room for a cycle lane on Spiersbridge / Main Street

    • Do you agree with any of the improvements suggested? Why not have a fresh look and see.
